The Military Affairs Committee is a joint committee run by the Ogden-Weber Chamber of Commerce and the Davis County Chamber of Commerce and is comprised of business, professional and military/civilian personnel. The purpose of this committee is, primarily, to establish a symbiotic relationship between Hill Air Force Base, businesses, and the surrounding community.
Military Affairs Committee Patron Program
The Military Affairs Committee aims to involve the community in the appropriate military affairs whenever possible. One of the ways the committee does this is by hosting the annual “Salute to Our Nation’s Defenders” Picnic at Hill Air Force Base. More than 3,000 military and civilian personnel attend this event each year.
The committee also funds military programs and events throughout the year, making it possible to arrange occasions that simultaneously thank the nation’s military while offering a chance for the community to learn about military affairs.
Becoming a Member of the Military Affairs Committee
If you or your business have an interest in military affairs and supporting the committee’s mission to enhance the relationship between the business community and military personnel, then you will likely be a great candidate for the Military Affairs Committee.
General committee members will receive emailed communications about upcoming committee events and functions at Hill Air Force Base. The Executive Committee meets the first Monday of each month at the Davis Conference Center to discuss current committee and military affairs. General Committee members may be nominated to join the Executive Committee annually.
There is an additional $125 fee to be a part of the Military Affairs Committee. These fees help fund the events and initiatives determined by the Military Affairs Executive Committee throughout the year. We are always looking for new members.
