Victor Hubbard, Performance Driven Marketing

Home /Archives formarketing

“We help companies get found online. That’s the essence of what we do.” Whether you’re looking to build a website, get help with search engine optimization, graphic design, or even looking for content writers, Victor Hubbard and his team at Performance Driven Marketing (PDM) have your solution at their North Ogden headquarters. Since online marketing efforts can be difficult to measure without experience in the industry, PDM’s goal is to deliver measurable and documentable results to their clients, and they’ve been doing so for over a decade.

When asked why he chose to base his business in Weber County, Victor noted the great location and pristine environment that attract so many others to this area. “I just love the outdoors. I love all of the ski resorts that are nearby, the biking that’s around. I just like getting out and playing.”

Being at the cutting edge of the e-commerce industry isn’t easy, and requires the PDM team to constantly be apprised of changing trends. As Victor notes, “Being a business owner is all about adapting and changing. If you’re just standing still or just staying stagnant you’re probably shrinking.”  Helping clients overcome their fears, and helping them realize the results that are achievable through a properly managed online presence is what drives PDM to keep innovating.

Since founding in 2009, PDM has grown into one of the top marketing agencies in Utah. With a staff of highly-skilled marketing specialists, SEO experts, graphic designers, web developers, content writers, and more, PDM has the expertise to handle many different marketing projects, big or small.

United Way of Northern Utah (UWNU) is proud to present “Branding on a Budget,” a free, five-part webinar training series focusing on marketing and communications, in partnership with KB Grants and Ogden Downtown Alliance. This professional development series aims to empower local nonprofit organizations, staff members, and volunteers by equipping them with essential skills and go-to tips in promoting programming.

Training seminars will be available via Zoom on the last Wednesday of every month at 2 p.m., from February to June. Each session will include 45 minutes of pre-recorded training and an interview with a local professional, followed by a 15-minute live question and answer period. All training sessions will include one suggested action item to complete between sessions, encouraging implementation of the covered topic.

June 30th | Inspiring Community Advocates
Special Guest: Clairesse Miljour, GOAL Foundation Operations Manager

Connect community members with your organizations’ mission, share your “why,” express appreciation, manage committed volunteers, and retain excitement.

All individual sessions are open to community members, and drop-ins are welcome. However, participants who attend all five webinars will earn a signed certificate of completion. Organizations are eligible for certification if at least one representative is present for all five sessions, offering further opportunities for organizations to share training topics with team members for whom it would be most beneficial.

For example, if one of your board members is taking the lead on managing your organization’s email list, they can join us in April. If, however, a staff member cannot attend a subsequent training, an intern or alternate staff member may join on behalf of your organization to learn and report back.

“I believe that, in working for a nonprofit, it is important to be adaptable and ready to wear many hats,” said Sara Mejeur, Development Director at YCC Family Crisis Center. “Strengthening versatile skills like marketing and communications is an invaluable experience. We are trying to budget and find new ways of promoting our organization during the pandemic, so this series could not have come at a better time! Our team plans on attending all of the training sessions so we can help support each other.”

Interview with J. Keith Titus
President/COO – named as new CEO, effective January 1, 2019

Q: What is MarketStar Doing that you are most excited about?

A: I love that we are providing great sales and technology jobs for young professionals right here in Ogden and building strong ties to our community.

Q: How is the industry changing and how is MarketStar reacting?

A: There is constant disruption in the industries that our clients serve, including movement of technology into the cloud and how the new consumer buys and uses products and services. We help our clients adapt to these massive shifts, and seek out new clients who are leading new and exciting industries.

Q: What is the company’s biggest challenge and how are you addressing it?

A: Our biggest challenge is finding and retaining talented people. We provide amazing jobs for sales professionals, but in this economy, there is a war for talent. We address this by providing solid onboarding, a world-class company culture, and training that gives them skills they need today and in the future.

Q: What are some of the ways MarketStar engages with the Ogden-Weber community?

A: We do great work every year by stocking food pantries for local middle schools, we hold reading days with Ogden elementary schools, and our annual Global Day of Service where we partner with Weber County on several beautification projects. We also support the Weber County Schools foundation and Chamber-lead causes.

Q: What is something people might be surprised to learn about MarketStar?

A: Our client roster includes Pinterest, Dropbox, Intel, Logitech, Nvidia and many others. We were bringing Silicon Valley jobs to Utah long before the Silicon Slopes!

Q: What is the vision for the future at MarketStar?

A: As our clients and the marketplace changes around us, we will become a company that utilizes data and analysis to drive revenue for companies that are changing the world. MarketStar will always have great sales jobs, but we will truly transform by pairing sales people with sales intelligence.

Q: Is there anything else you’d like to add?

A: This is an exciting time to be with MarketStar, and it’s thrilling to be able to apply my experience as an employee, a client, and a senior leader to moving MarketStar forward today and in the future. In 2019, my first action as new CEO will be to evaluate the needs and opportunities for our company. I’m looking forward to meeting with as many people face-to- face as I can and learn more about how we focus on engaging and delivering for our employees, our clients, and the Ogden-Weber community, and working to transform our company for the next 30 years.
