Bank of Utah Named a Monitor 2026 Best Company for Community Impact

Ogden, Utah, Feb. 27, 2026—Bank of Utah has been named a Monitor 2026 Best Company in the Community Impact category for its meaningful, statewide contributions to Utah communities throughout 2025.

The bank earned this honor for its hands-on service, financial support and community partnerships, resulting in 2,000 employee volunteer hours, support for 76 nonprofit organizations statewide, $344 million in community development loans and over 30 employees serving on nonprofit and community boards in 2025.

The Monitor Best Companies Awards recognize lenders, service providers, associations, fintech enablers and other organizations within the equipment finance ecosystem that excel in Community Impact, Culture, Inclusion, Leadership or Innovation. Bank of Utah was recognized in the Community Impact category—an award honoring companies that positively affect others’ lives by encouraging employees to devote time, talent and resources to causes that promote the welfare of their communities.

Monitor praised Bank of Utah as a model for the industry, noting, “Community impact is the new currency of equipment finance. In an era where corporate identity is defined by more than a balance sheet … Bank of Utah proves that a financial institution’s success is best measured by the strength and well-being of the neighborhoods it serves.”

Bank of Utah’s mission is to unlock the potential of its team members, clients and community by acting with integrity, building trust through every interaction, exceeding expectations at every opportunity and responsibly creating lasting prosperity for generations. This is rooted in the values of its founder, Frank M. Browning, who established Bank of Utah in 1952 with the belief that community prosperity is a shared responsibility. Browning famously said, “As a member of the community, we owe it to the community to help out where we can.” That guiding principle continues to shape the bank today.

“Bank of Utah believes that by uplifting the community, it uplifts everyone. This belief drives every decision we make,” said Branden Hansen, President of Bank of Utah. “We commit to continue to strengthen communities, support nonprofit partners and invest in the people and places where we live and work. We are proud to be honored by Monitor for showing what it truly means to be a community bank.”

The bank provides charitable support in many forms, including financial contributions, board service, hands-on volunteerism and large-scale initiatives. In 2025, Bank of Utah team members assembled more than 1,000 hygiene kits for teens and families, providing essential items, financial literacy resources and messages of encouragement. Through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines Member Impact Fund, the bank also helped deliver more than $200,000 in grant funding to 30 Utah nonprofits supporting youth programs, housing, food security and the arts.

In 2025, Bank of Utah became the title sponsor of Utah’s official PGA TOUR event, the Bank of Utah Championship at Black Desert, pledging $150,000 to support teen centers statewide through The Policy Project. During Championship week, team members completed service projects benefiting local teen centers. This event boosted Utah’s tourism, supported local businesses and nonprofits, and created a space for a community gathering and celebration of Utah.

To help Utahns stay warm during the winter, Bank of Utah led its 13thannual Warm Bodies Warm Souls clothing drive—the largest clothing drive in the state. The initiative collected more than 560 bags of winter gear and over $10,000 in donations, benefiting 15 charitable organizations statewide.
