MEET THE HONOREES
CHAMBER IMPACT
In certain years we recognize individuals and/or organizations that make a significant difference in our community or within the Chamber, through the presentation of the “Chamber Impact Award.” The award has a special place among the other awards and is only presented when a truly meaningful impact is made.
Past Chamber Impact Award Recipients

One member of the Chamber has been making an impact on the Chamber and our community since 1965. We are so excited to share this special evening with Bank of Utah in recognition of decades of contribution.
A few of the Bank’s contributions to the Chamber are:
- Active participation and sponsorship of our Women in Business Committee
- Leadership on the Chamber Board of Governors
- Membership with the Chamber Spikers
- Partner in the annual Economic Forecast event with 300+ annual attendees
- Annual sponsorship of the Golf Tournament and Annual Gala
- Past Chamber Chair and Wall of Fame Honoree…former Bank of Utah President Doug DeFries
- And the first Keystone partner of the Chamber, beginning January 2016

Weber County and Ogden City for their combined work in managing the delivery of the federal CARES Grant in 2020. The effort entailed months of work to communicate the grant’s purpose, encourage organizations to apply, evaluate applications, deliver grants, and perhaps most importantly, coordinate the grant process on behalf of the cities. The process successfully delivered funds into the hands of businesses when it was needed most. Perhaps there was no financial effort as impactful as the delivery of the CARES Grant funding throughout our community.

In 2019, WadmanCorporation was selected as the contractor to surprise two deserving families in the greater Ogden area as part of the Emmy award-winning reality TV show, “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” Wadmanpartnered with various local organizations creating a collaborative volunteer effort of more than 200 people to make it possible for the Barobi and Mayo families to receive new homes in one week.

This year we recognize Myers Mortuaries for its exemplary spirit of community engagement and the company’s belief in the Chamber mission.
In 2017 the Chamber made significant progress toward its vision to advance business prosperity. That vision required ongoing commitment by strong and visionary partners who were willing to take risks and who were willing to do things that were out of the ordinary. Myers Mortuaries joined America First Credit Union by investing in the Chamber as our second Cornerstone Partner.
As a result of the Myers Mortuaries partnership, the Chamber was able to continue to enhance its business communication systems, create a stronger member-to-member discount program, and provide easier access to the Chamber’s premier events. Because of our Cornerstone partners, ALL 2018 Business After Hours events are complimentary to Chamber members. This benefit alone saves each person $10 per event, or $120 per year. The number of employees who attend from a member organization is unlimited. Additionally, businesses who are not Chamber members, can also attend the event for free on their first visit. Our commitment to provide businesses with more promotional opportunities and business connection points is happening.
Myers Mortuaries is a tireless community partner. The company’s impact is not just felt by businesses, but in our education systems, in the lives of our veterans and military personnel, and individual families throughout our community. It’s a legacy of giving and service that extends back many generations to 1942 when the company had its beginnings.

In 2016 the Chamber established a fresh vision – a vision to advance business prosperity. That vision required partners who were willing to take risks and who were willing to do things that were out of the ordinary – to do the un–typical. Among the many who joined in that vision, America First Credit Union doubled down on their investmentby becoming the Chamber’s first Cornerstone Partner.
Through America First’s partnership the Chamber was able to create new ways to disseminate business information, develop better ways for members to communicate, improve our events and connecting points, and enable the Chamber to put ideas into action.
America First is a tireless community partner. Look around and you won’t miss the positive impact of America First. It’s felt in our business community, in our education systems, in our arts and athletics programs, and the list goes on.
