73-Year-Old Legacy House of Park Lane Resident Takes the Stage at Wiseguys, Launching Community’s “No Regrets Club”

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (March 10, 2026)

At 73 years young, a resident of Legacy House of Park Lane is proving it’s never too late to chase a dream—and to make a room full of people laugh while doing it.

On March 11 at 7 p.m., Cherry, a resident at Legacy House of Park Lane, will take the stage at Wiseguys Comedy Club at The Gateway (190 400 W, Salt Lake City, UT 84101) for Open Mic Night, sharing a stand-up routine inspired by her life, her memories, and her unmistakable gift for storytelling. Wiseguys has provided consent for media attendance and coverage.

Originally from Southeast Texas, Cherry spent her career as a Special Education teacher, dedicating her life to helping others find confidence and joy. Now, she’s stepping into the spotlight herself.

“I’ve always wanted to try stand-up,” Cherry shared. “I like to make people laugh and bring joy by sharing my life with people. When you get older, you don’t always get as much laughter and fun. If I can make people happy—especially at this age—why not?”

Her comedy centers around funny memories, life lessons, and the humor found in everyday experiences. A natural storyteller, Cherry delights in “going back and remembering the fun stuff,” inviting audiences to laugh right along with her.

This milestone performance marks the first official dream fulfilled through Legacy House of Park Lane’s newly launched No Regrets Club, an initiative created by the community’s life enrichment team to help residents pursue meaningful goals—big or small.

As part of the program, residents are invited to place a wish in the “No Regrets Box,” sharing something they’ve always wanted to do. The team then works to bring those dreams to life.

“At Legacy House of Park Lane, our program is all about bringing joy and fun until the very end,” said Shauna Chavez, executive director. “We want residents to feel purpose and meaning every day—and to know it’s never too late to make a dream come true.”

Cherry’s stand-up debut is just the beginning. Upcoming No Regrets Club dreams already in the works include:

  • A resident living with Parkinson’s riding as a passenger in a racecar on the Salt Flats
  • A skydiving experience planned for another adventurous resident as warmer weather arrives

With approximately one dream scheduled each month—and growing interest from residents—the No Regrets Club reflects Legacy’s deep commitment to connection, purpose and vibrant living.

At Legacy House of Park Lane, residents experience assisted living and memory support in a warm, welcoming community where friendships flourish and each day brings opportunities for confidence-inspiring abundant living . Guided by its mission, Serving You Like Family, and a steadfast commitment to its Personal Touch Culture, Legacy associates strive to create loving and meaningful connections with every resident.

Cherry’s journey to the comedy stage is a shining example of that culture in action—where life stories are honored, laughter is celebrated, and dreams don’t have an expiration date.

Media are invited to attend the March 11 Open Mic Night at Wiseguys to capture Cherry’s performance and learn more about the No Regrets Club initiative at Legacy House of Park Lane. A high-resolution photo of Cherry is available upon request.
