Big things are happening at Weber State University and that’s big news for our entire community!

Weber State University has officially set a new enrollment record this fall, welcoming 33,558 students! This exciting milestone and continued growth is so exciting for WSU and our community!

Students represent 28 Utah counties, all 50 states, three U.S. territories and more than 60 countries. While Weber State’s reach extends around the globe, the majority of its students come from right here in Weber and Davis counties.

So, what does this mean for our local business community?

A growing university means a growing pool of future professionals, entrepreneurs, innovators and community leaders. These students represent the next generation of talent that will help shape our local workforce and strengthen Northern Utah’s economy.

At the Ogden-Weber Chamber of Commerce, we recognize the important connection between education and a thriving business community. So we have started a partnership with Weber State. Through this partnership, local businesses will have new opportunities to connect with WSU students through internships and hands on experiences. This gives students the chance to build real world skills while helping our businesses tap into emerging talent. In Sept. 2026, we presented WSU with the Weber 100 Award recognizing their significant economic contributions to the local community. The university is one of the largest employers in Ogden and trains future business leaders and professionals who work and build careers in Utah.

When Weber State grows, Weber County grows. Together were building an even stronger Weber County. Stronger Together!
