OGDEN – On Tuesday, June 16, the Ogden City Council unanimously approved the appointment of Taylor Nielsen as Ogden City’s new Chief Administrative Officer. Mayor Benjamin K. Nadolski appointed Nielsen for the position after a national recruitment effort and selection process that included an interview panel of Ogden City employees and community partners.

“I’ve appreciated the opportunity to grow my career since I’ve been here,” Nielsen said. “This is truly an honor to be put forward as part of this recommendation from the mayor and to be brought before you as Council members. I know what an amazing opportunity this is and what an incredible city Ogden is.”

Nielsen has been with Ogden City for 14 years as a Development Engineer, Assistant City Engineer, City Engineer, Assistant Public Services Executive Director, and most recently as the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer.

The newly appointed CAO has worked on many significant projects in Ogden City over the years, including the construction of Ogden’s Water Treatment Plant, development of the new Marshall N. White Community Center, and the ongoing replacement of the Ogden Canyon Waterline.

Nielsen replaces former CAO Mara Brown, who in May announced that her nearly 20 years of service with Ogden City would conclude at the end of the fiscal year.

The appointment will be effective on Friday, June 26.
