What is the Sentinel Program?

The Sentinel weapon system is a once-in-a-generation technological modernization effort. Designed to replace the aging Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) system, Sentinel represents a complete transformation of national defense infrastructure:

• Next-Generation Capabilities: Built with modular architecture, digital engineering, and cyber-resilient systems designed to protect against evolving global threats through 2075.
• Deterrence in Action: A credible, state-of-the-art land-based strategic deterrent designed to preserve peace and stability across the globe.
• Utah-Led Innovation: From solid rocket motor testing in Promontory to digital engineering design in Roy, the backbone of this national defense mission is being forged right here in Northern Utah.
