The Salvation Army in Utah is pleased to announce that Lisa McDonald has accepted the new role of Grant and Community Development Manager for the Salt Lake City Corps, Ogden Corps, and St. George Outpost.

She will be responsible for grant writing, community development, and corporate partnerships throughout the State of Utah.

She previously served as Executive Director of The Christmas Box International which serves 10,000 children annually experiencing abuse, neglect, or homelessness.  In addition, she worked at Utah Foster Care and the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program with the Utah Guardian ad Litem Office. She also was a foster parent for teens. A graduate of Brigham Young University, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology.

“We are excited to have Lisa assist us in developing community relationships with corporations, groups, and individuals to generate donations and volunteers,” said Captain Rob Lawler, SLC Basin Coordinator for The Salvation Army in Utah. “Her tremendous knowledge and skill in non-profit management and coordination will greatly enhance our ability to serve the community more effectively.

The Salvation Army has been supporting those in need without discrimination since 1865. Thousands of Utahns receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through a broad array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, utility assistance, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter for the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children.
