Follow clues on social media to find a wallet hidden somewhere in Utah—the winner receives $20,000, taking home $10,000 in cash and donating an additional $10,000 to a Utah-based charity of their choice
Ogden, Utah, July 31, 2025—Bank of Utah announces its third annual Where’s the Wallet Cash Quest. The bank has hidden a wallet somewhere in Utah for treasure hunters to find. One lucky winner who finds it can win $20,000, taking home $10,000 in cash and donating an additional $10,000 to a Utah-based charity of their choice. Clues to find the treasure will be posted on the bank’s social media accounts weekly. More details about the quest can be found here.
“Good luck to all the treasure hunters out there,” said Megan Kenley, AVP Communications and marketing manager at Bank of Utah. “We’re running the Where’s the Wallet Cash Quest to fulfill our mission to build communities and inspire Utahns to explore our beautiful state. We’re excited to see who finds the wallet this year and what stories the winner tells of their quest.”
Side Quests
The bank will also be posting social media side quests. Clues will lead hunters to hidden piggy banks, and additional clues will be provided to help find the wallet. Winners of the side quests will also receive a handmade leather wallet from Stock & Barrel and an exclusive two-night getaway at Black Desert Resort in Southern Utah.
Early Access to the Final Clue
Participants who want early access to the final clue can visit a Bank of Utah branch for a hint that will help solve the final clue before it’s revealed.
Chris Shane found last year’s wallet along the Historic Union Pacific Rail Trail near Echo Reservoir. Shane donated the charity portion of the winnings to fund two $5,000 scholarships for first-generation students at UVU.
