Help us celebrate the 111th Annual Gala by submitting nominees for the Luminary awards. Nominees must have both active membership and significant involvement with the Ogden-Weber Chamber of Commerce. The selected recipients will be invited to celebrate at the Ogden-Weber Chamber of Commerce Annual Gala on March 17, 2027, where they will be recognized for their achievements in 2026. Nominations for the 2027 Gala will close at Thanksgiving. Any nominations received after will be considered for the 2028 Gala.
Multiple nomination submissions are encouraged. You can also nominate yourself!
Luminary Award
The “Luminary” is uniquely connected to Ogden’s railroad heritage and inspired by a phenomenon in the railroad industry known as The Loom. At night, particularly during a storm, mist, or heavy humidity, moisture in the air refracts the light from a train’s headlamp, allowing it to reach farther and create a broader beacon that helps illuminate the way ahead.
The Luminary Award is the Ogden-Weber Chamber’s premier annual honor, recognizing individuals and organizations whose leadership, achievement, service, or influence has made an exceptional contribution to the Chamber, our business community, or the economic vitality of Weber County during the past 12 months (Thanksgiving to Thanksgiving).
Like The Loom, Luminaries extend their influence beyond themselves. They illuminate possibilities, elevate those around them, and help light the way forward.
A Luminary isn’t necessarily the most famous person, biggest employer, or loudest leader. This is about what they did that extended beyond themselves. How their leadership affected employees. How their investment affected the economy. How their service affected the Chamber. How their collaboration brought others along. AND how their idea(s) opened possibilities.
Luminary Awards are presented to individuals and organizations demonstrating exceptional achievement or impact in one or more of the ways below. Luminaries are not selected by category. Each recipient is recognized for the contribution or accomplishment that distinguished them during the year and each recipient receives the same prestigious award. Together, they reflect the many ways Chamber members are helping strengthen our business community and Weber County.
- Chamber Leadership & Service: Extraordinary service, participation, or leadership that has advanced the Chamber and its mission.
- Business Leadership & Achievement: Exceptional organizational leadership, growth, entrepreneurship, investment, or business accomplishment.
- Community Impact: A meaningful contribution that has strengthened Weber County or improved the quality of life of those who live and work here.
- Innovation & Vision: New ideas, initiatives, investments, or approaches that are helping move an organization, industry, or our community forward.
- Workforce & People Development: Significant contributions to employment, education, professional development, mentorship, or creating opportunities for others.
- Partnership & Collaboration: Bringing businesses, organizations, government, education, or community partners together to accomplish meaningful results.
- Business Advocacy: Leadership on issues, policies, or initiatives that strengthen the business climate and economic prosperity of Northern Utah.
- Service & Philanthropy: Exceptional generosity or service that has benefited organizations, individuals, or the broader community.
Wall of Fame
Wall of Fame nominees will have made an “extra effort” through the contribution of time, talent and financial support in professional and personal endeavors to enhance quality of life in Weber County. The Wall of Fame is a forum to honor those who have given back to the local community, versus honoring those who have brought acclaim to the area through contribution to the arts, medicine, politics, etc. It is not necessary to honor the recipient’s spouse unless the spouse has also participated in making significant contributions.
