Extended Your 2025 Tax Return? Your Fall 2026 Deadline Is Approaching

Fall is a busy season for businesses. For Utah business owners, September through November includes several important federal and state tax dates.

Taxes can be confusing for a lot of us. Every year when tax season rolls around, I find myself wondering, “Why didn’t they teach us this in school?”

That’s where we come in. The Ogden-Weber Chamber is here to help you keep your business on track and connect you with trusted Chamber members who are tax professionals. With the right resources and experts in your corner, tax season doesn’t have to feel so overwhelming.

Mark your calendar! For many Utah businesses, there are 4 important tax dates worth highlighting:

September 15, 2026: Third estimated federal tax payment for many individuals and corporations- extended partnership and S corporation returns due

September 30, 2026: Extended 2025 Trust Tax Returns due

October 15, 2026: Extended individual federal returns and many extended calendar-year C corporation returns due

November 2, 2026: Third-quarter Form 941 due for most employers, along with certain third-quarter Utah sales tax and withholding obligations

Tax deadlines aren’t the only reason to connect with your accountant or tax professional this fall. With only a few months remaining in the year, this can be a good time to review your business’s financial picture and start preparing.
