Participants in the 4th annual treasure hunt will follow social media clues to a wallet hidden somewhere in Utah— the winner takes home $10,000 and donates another $10,000 to the Utah-based charity of their choice
Ogden, Utah, July 14, 2026—Bank of Utah is bringing back its annual Where’s the Wallet Cash Quest for the fourth year, inviting treasure hunters across the state to search for a wallet hidden at a mystery location somewhere in Utah. The participant who finds it will receive $10,000 in cash and donate an additional $10,000 to a Utah-based charity of their choice, for a total prize of $20,000.
New clues will drop weekly on the bank’s social media accounts starting July 14. More information about the quest is available here.
“There’s no better way to bring people together than a little adventure with a purpose,” said Megan Kenley, AVP Communications and marketing manager at Bank of Utah. “Where’s the Wallet isn’t just about creating a fun, statewide experience—it’s about giving back. By allowing the winner to donate to a Utah charity of their choice, we’re extending the impact beyond one person and supporting the local communities we serve.”
Early Access to the First Clue
Participants eager to get a head start on the hunt can visit any Bank of Utah branch and scan a QR code to receive early access to the first clue before it is shared on the bank’s social media channels.
Side Quests
The bank will also be posting social media side quests. Clues will lead hunters to hidden piggy banks, and a bonus hint to help them find the wallet. Winners of the side quests will also receive a handmade leather wallet from Stock & Barrel, and a two-night getaway and a $250 resort credit at Black Desert Resort in Southern Utah.
Last year’s Where’s the Wallet Cash Quest ended in a record-setting 10 days when Stazie R., Koaly B. and Jennete B. of Springville found the hidden wallet along Yellow Fork Trail in Herriman. The team selected the Utah Kids Foundation to receive the $10,000 charitable donation. The 501(c)(3) nonprofit supports Utah families of children with special needs by providing essential medical supplies, caregiver support programs, disability-friendly events and a comprehensive online support community.
