The Ogden Marathon was given the Runners Choice Award as best marathon in Utah! Runners Choice also gave a special nod to the Ogden Marathon, as it was the top overall vote-getter.
In Addition to the Runners Choice Award for Utah, the Ogden marathon was also voted “One of the Top Ten Marathons in the World” (Runners World, Jan 2011), “One of the Best Courses in America for First-Time Marathon Runners” (Runners World, Jan 2012) and “5th Best Marathon in the Country for Beginning Marathon Runners” (Shape.com, Mar 2015)
The Runners Choice spoke about the Ogden Marathon saying, “In the land of downhill marathons, Ogden has a lot of upside. the gentle downhill course (net elevation loss ~1,100 ft) and cooler spring temperatures encourage runners to chase a personal best without fear of thrashing their quads. Starting in the Wasatch Range, the “absolutely beautiful” route runs alongside the Ogden River and winds through Ogden Canyon before finishing downtown on Historic 25th Street. Runners of all abilities will feel supported every step of the way by “amazing” volunteers and “enthusiastic” crowds. For 26.2 miles of breathtaking and memory-making, set your sights on Ogden.”
