When the doors to Farr’s Jewelry opened in 1956 a family business was launched that would prosper despite a number of unlucky challenges. For roughly the first thirty years, Farr’s Jewelry was accessed by climbing a steep set of stairs above Wecker Shoes on Washington Blvd. Shortly after moving across the street, however, our new store was taken away to make place for theEccles Conference Center. This forced Farr’s to move back across the street in a newly constructed free-standing building.
For the next 30 years Farr’s Jewelry weathered the rise and fall of big box stores, the launch of Internet retailers, a Covid pandemic, and now an encircling of construction work. We’ve weathered it all, thus far, because our customers remain loyal, they remain our friends, and they continue to send their family and friends to support us.
Farr’s Jewelry customers know that when they shop at Farr’s they are engaging career employees who have dedicated their livelihoods and expertise to an enterprise in which they are passionate. Our employees frequently maintain their Farr’s partnership for decades—often many decades—because they know the Farr’s family appreciates and values their dedication. The embodiment of this employee dedication is one the primary factors (along with selection, quality, and price) thatgenerates loyal friends from our many customers.
Having on on-site expert goldsmith who can fix nearly any jewelry item and can custom-make unique jewelry pieces, not only sets us apart from a number of other local jewelers, but has earned us the reputation (and solid Google reviews) as the place to get one’s jewelry repaired or custom-created.
As a Jewelry store, Farr’s is nearly unique—not only because of the lasting impact it has made on Ogden, but also because it’s the oldest camera store north of Utah County. While many other jewelry stores, camera stores, and even giant electronic stores have emerged and collapsed over the past 66 years, Farr’s Jewelry not only continues going strong, but is still owned by Vern Farr and supervised by his son Dirk.
Despite numerous local and global challenges, Farr’s has grown and become stronger. For more years than we can practically count, we were voted the favorite jewelry store in the area, and this year we were voted the favorite camera store by the readers of all five top-of-Utah magazines published by Connection Publishing—this includes readers from Roy, Syracuse, North Ogden, Ogden and the whole of Weber County.
We thank Ogden for 66 years of business, respect, and friendship, and look forward to many more years of serving our loyal Utah customers and neighbors.

MacCool’s may be hard to explain, but it is easy to enjoy! It is an eclectic gathering
place where creative down home cooking has been influenced by the Irish, yet
perfected by American know-how. ‘There are no strangers here…only friends who
have not met!’ MacCool’s Public House is an Irish pub-style family restaurant for ALL
to enjoy!
The name relinquishes the story of Finn MacCool who was a warrior leading the
Fianna army of Ireland and a poet spreading words of wisdom throughout the island.
One of many myths of Finn link his inspiration to the ‘Knights of the Round Table’ with
King Arthur. A community gathering place began as a ‘public house’. Friends and
neighbors met to share food, companionship and stories. Everyone was welcome,
even passing visitors stopped in to relax and savor the samplings!
‘Cead Mile Failte‘ is a Gaelic saying that translates to 100,000 welcomes and
epitomizes the tones set at MacCool’s. From the moment one opens the inviting red
door to see the flickering fire place, the warm and friendly atmosphere has begun!
MacCool’s has recreated the sense of Irish dining and created openness with various
seating areas with much of the furnishings and artifacts that arrived from the Emerald
Island. From furniture to fixtures, wall tones to overtones; the interior unfolds with
blended concepts of a country cottage, Victorian era, Gaelic emphasis and a pub shop
of bar influences. The unique identity is exemplified by amazing floor variations, colors,
furnishings and crafted collectibles that tell many stories.
The staff members of MacCool’s team are smiling and relaxed to exemplify a casual,
friendly atmosphere for guests to enjoy.
