Spikers are Chamber ambassadors who conduct ribbon-cuttings at grand openings and community events, and promote the goodwill of the Chamber to other communities.
The Spikers are made up of about 50 community leader volunteers. Each Spiker is required to attend a minimum percentage of events. On average, about 12 Spikers will attend any given event.
The Spikers typically participate in 30-50 ribbon cuttings each year. To schedule a ribbon cutting, your organization must meet some basic requirements that will help us help you have a great event:
- Have a current membership in the Ogden/Weber Chamber.
- The event must be for organizations celebrating a new facility or one that has been significantly changed or expanded.
- The ribbon cutting must be scheduled with the Chamber no less than two weeks prior to the event.
- Ribbon cuttings can only be held Monday-Friday, around the lunch hour (11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) or toward the end of the work day (around 5 p.m.).
To schedule a ribbon cutting, e-mail Rachel.
You must be nominated and approved by the Spikers to join this Committee.
