This committee is involved in educating businesses and integrating the needs of businesses, current workforce and the community. The following are objectives of the Business Retention & Development Committee:

• Survey business leaders and determine the need priorities of their business.
• Be a resource for programs and opportunities for business development.
• Educate business and industry on local and state incentives and programs to help fund business development and expansion.
• Sponsor business seminars to meet the needs of businesses. When possible partner with members to provide excellence in seminars.
• Plan and forecast current and future needs and determine how the community can satisfy those needs. 
• EngageWeberCounty communities in making our county businesses employee friendly. 
• Evaluate business friendly processes for licensing, permits and zoning; affect changes as needed. Engage city, county and state support as needed. 
• Create partnerships with contiguous counties to foster regionalism in business and economic development. 
• Coordinate with the Workforce Development Committee on projects and priorities.
• Provide support and information to businesses potentially locating in WeberCounty.
• Challenge new businesses to use local supply chain by networking with existing businesses. 
• Partner with the USTARCenter, WeberStateUniversity and OgdenWeberAppliedTechnologyCollege to engage businesses in developing new products and services through applied research.
• Utilize relationships in the business community to foster creation of new businesses and support entrepreneurial development through Seed Weber-Davis- Morgan.
• Utilize existing business members and organizations to achieve the vision of the committee to eliminate competition and duplication.
